Imitation is the greatest form of flattery?

A poser plagiarized my artist friend's work by just RE-painting his photograph and its being shown in a gallery! He has contacted this artist who not only was rude to him but refuses to acknowledge the blatant fallacy of her "work." She's making a statement that isn't even hers and taking the credit for it!
