Is this a good price for paint/drywall repair?

Our ceiling was leaking and we found out the pipes in our house are bad, the plumber had to cut out several holes in the ceiling drywall to fix it and cut out where mold had started. Anyhow, he said he'd fix the drywall and paint the cleing for $1,000. We are going to ask around but I just have no clue what a good price is on these things. Thanks.
