Is this a weird thing to want to be? Really?

it is a great dream but in reality life in the west was not as the movies portray. life was hard, and i am not talking about a flat tire hard, i mean daily struggles of living without many things we take for granted these days, homesteaders were some of the toughest people who had to learn doctoring, animal husbandry, agriculture and growing food in the hard pan dirt, living with little and trying to eat even less. more than half didnt make it and either died or went back home with their tail between their legs. keep your dreams and it isnt weird.
