Faith is blind? Why do people say that is what faith is so much?

Faith is just that, faith. It doesn't have to have any evidence or prove anything. The fact that you are quoting from a book demonstrates that. Faith is not just about god, It can be about anything. No god gives us anything. There is nothing called spiritual blindness. In fact there is nothing called "spiritual" either.
