Automatic renewal of auto insurance agreement?

So, I have Farmers Insurance, and I signed a six month agreement with them for coverage. When I paid my last payment in my plan (6/29), I umed I would hear from them about renewing it, which I didn't, and had also umed that if I didn't contact them that I would not be expected to make a payment on 7/29 as I had not authorized that and I hadn't signed anything agreeing to any payments after my payment plan was up. Can they renew my payment plan and coverage without any expressed consent from me?
